Position: Operator

Purpose:

Operate machines in a safe and efficient way. To be cross trained on all equipment and machinery.

Qualifications:

Must be able to operate machinery properly and safely. Must be able to lift up to 30lbs.

Responsibilities:

  1. Primary responsibilities are to run and maintain fillers and other related equipment.
  2. Clean, set-up, operate and monitor equipment of the production line.
  3. Complete all required documentation and scheduled quality checks.
  4. Monitor weights, seals, caps, and general packaging of product.
  5. Make adjustments to Filler timing and filling, & check mat as needed.
  6. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate operating difficulties.
  7. Collect required samples needed for Quality Assurance testing.
  8. Ensure that the proper packaging materials are used for each product being produced.
  9. Will have working knowledge and experience with wrapper operations; watching for jams and effectively threading wrap to prevent cost downtime due to handler error.
  10. Complete cleaning checklist once line has completed run.
  11. Prepare equipment for next run to include size changes as needed.
  12. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices and Follow SOP’s. Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area.
  13. The employee will be required to use all personal protective equipment provided by the company in compliance with OSHA regulations.
  14. Learn and adhere to safety and security policies and procedures.
  15. Follow all sanitation and quality policies and procedures, and report any deficiencies.
  16. Performs other duties as assigned.

Food Safety:

  1. Employee must follow GMP’s. Employee must follow all personal and food safety regulations at all times.
  2. Follow product specifications requirements

Food Regulation:

  • Employees must follow allergen Management, food defense and work place safety.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Employee will attend all annual trainings to maintain a safe work place and maintain food safety.

Food Quality:

  • Follow CCP guidelines.

Reports to:

  • Production Lead

Provision for Absence:

  • Production Lead or other operators will cover the position in the event of an absence.
